A survey was given to 100 students to determine if they liked hot dogs, hamburgers, or tacos. (more info)?

28 liked hot dogs.

13 liked hot dogs and hamburgers.

34 liked hamburgers.

15 liked hot dogs and tacos.

57 liked tacos.

17 liked hamburgers and tacos.

7 liked all three.

How many students did not fill out the survey?

Hints:

* Start with the last clue

* 28 liked hot dogs, that means that in the hot dog circle of your Venn Diagram, your numbers will add up to 28 - some of those 28 liked other things as well.

Nineteen didn't!

I believe I'm right...

7 only liked Hot Dogs

11 only liked Hamburgers

32 only liked Tacos

6 only liked Hot Dogs and Hamburgers

10 only liked Tacos and Hamburgers

8 only liked Hot Dogs and Tacos

And, as stated, only 7 liked all three!

The total is 81, leaving 19 who didn't fill out the survey!

Reply:How would i put it here in text form but just read the numbers tacos: 32, 8, 10, 7; hamburger: 11, 10, 6, 7; Hotdog: 7, 8, 6, 7. These are the number the circles each food overlap with.
Reply:19 either did not fill out the survey or did not like any of the three.

The portions of a 3-circle venn diagram are:

All 3 (center of diagram) = 7

Hamburgers and tacos only = 10 (17 - 7)

Hot dogs and tacos only = 8 (15 - 7)

Hot dogs and hamburgers only = 6 (13 - 7)

Hot dogs only = 7 (28 - 7 - 8 - 6)

Hamburgers only = 11 (34 - 7 - 6 - 10)

Tacos only = 32 (57 - 7 - 8 - 10)

Add up these spaces, you get 81 who like at least one of the items.

100 - 81 = 19 who either liked nothing or didn't fill out the survey. (Without further information, you can't say which.)
