A small survey about technology in education?

As an elementary school teacher would you want to use digital content in your classrooms?

We are in the process of building a small company that makes digital content for elementary school classrooms. This content is made for teachers to enhance student learning and to make it more interactive and interesting. The content is only for Science and for 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades.

A small survey about technology in education?
i think its a wonderful idea to present to our children. technology is our future.
Reply:yeah
Reply:Capitate their minds with technology becaus ethe world revolves around it. Like Darwins theory of evolution...
Reply:Sure, but I would spend money on it only if it was the best use of my limited funds. There's a lot of material available that doesn't require an electronic infrastructure.
Reply:yes. i will use digital content in my classroom if got the facilities.

Simple survey about colleges, for students and graduates?

What college did you/are you attending, what was/is your major, and are you happy about the decision?

Simple survey about colleges, for students and graduates?
Ferris State University, Elementary Ed, and yes.
Reply:I go to Colorado State, I'm a business major, and I love it! College is the best thing ever.
Reply:I will answer this one and everyone will laugh ...but you can't argue I am educated!

Northwest Missouri State University - 1997 BS in Psychology. I liked this school. Small but not TOO small with plenty to do on campus and a rocking D2 football team! Also, the only school I still go to homecoming at.

University of Nebraska at Kearney - 2003 BAE in Social Science Education. This school was ok. I really liked my professors. I can still go back here and walk into a professors office and they know me by FIRST name. I still keep in touch with the professors here too. I think that is VERY important in any school. I can not say the same thing about NWMSU....At NWMSU I had more of a social life but I was younger too.

University of Kansas - Masters in Education (in progress). I am enjoying being a graduate student in a highly respected and well established research university for my graduate degree. The professors are world class and I love the challenge. I definately like the amount of freedom I am gettin at KU coupled with guidance and direction. The professors are accessible which is also key!

I hope that helps. I do plan to go on to get a PhD but have not decided if I am going to stay at KU or go elsewhere.
Reply:I attended Northern Arizona University, then transferred to The University of New Mexico.

I chose to emphasize three areas of liberal arts: music, psychology, and education. I earned a Bachelor of University Studies degree.

Later, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Community and Agency Counseling within the College of Education at U.N.M.

Yes, I am happy with my choices.
Reply:I started at Rutgers University in its School of Engineering in the Fall of 2001. I quickly discovered that the engineering curriculum was too rigid for my taste, so I transfered to Rutgers's liberal arts Rutgers College, where for the next two years I bounced between Computer Science and Physics before deciding to do a double major in them both. I graduated last May.

As to whether I was happy with my choice of university and major, the answers are respectively not at the time but eventually yes and definitely. As to Rutgers, I ended up going there because I flubbed my college admissions process, so that's the only place I got in. In NJ, Rutgers (the state uni. of NJ) doesn't have a great reputation, which in retrospect I feel bad about. By the time my second year started, and certainly in my last two years I was very happy that I ended up at Rutgers. It has earned a place in my heart. As to my majors, I chose subjects that I liked and was good at, so for the most part it was a good time (there were some courses that you had to get through in order to get to some of the more juicy stuff, but in the end that's alright).

Right now I'm in grad school studying physics (which is, if you need it, yet more evidence that I like physics because if you don't like physics, grad school for it would drive one to suicide I'm sure... :) ). The university is the University of Pittsburgh. It's a lot of work (let me rephrase, it's a *lot* of work), but there's a lot to like. There's something of a fellowship of suffering with your fellow grad students, and you're doing something that should interest you greatly.

So, to sum up, I have to admit I've been lucky. I haven't always done the best job of things I could have, but still managed to stumble into doing things that I enjoy and which are interesting. I can't say I had a master plan (because I never do, and tend to just wing it... :) ), so I've got someone looking out for me up there.
Reply:Started off at University of Western Ontario with a BSc in Biology. Hated that school because is was too big, not enough attention from professors (how do you learn in a class of 1000 people???!!!), and had one course where 2 profs taught, got a 52 on the first exam from the first prof and a 96 on the 2nd exam (marks were divided up 50% midterm, 50% final)...how is that right having 2 profs who are so different in their teaching styles that i could go from almost failing the class to almost perfect?!?! Because of that I left, took 3 year off and moved to Florida. Then when I got my head back on straight, I went back to Canada, finished my Honours BSc at Brock and was VERY happy I did this. Why? Because Brock was a much smaller school, where I got to know about half the biology faculty personally so I could get help if I needed to. WORD OF ADVICE FOR ANYONE OUT THERE....SMALLER SCHOOLS ARE WAY BETTER IF YOU NEED MORE ATTENTION!!!

Because I did so well at Brock (my marks went up from a low B average to a mid A) I was able to go to Graduate school. Now I'm attending McMaster University and doing a Masters in Biochemistry. Not sure if I like the 'biochemistry' part, although i'm mostly working with bacterial proteins, however...grad school although sounds scary...IT IS! haha, but you don't have to take courses like a mad person...like you do in your undergrad.

Hope that answers your question!

PLEASE ANSWER MY SURVEY, I'm a High Business Venture Student, on ideas of a Restaurant/Club?

What is an ideal Restaurant for you?

What kind of food do you like?

What is the first thing you want to feel or see when you come in the restaurant?

Do you prefer specialist bartenders and cooks, than ordinary?

Will you feel secure if there is more security at the club such as security guards and supervisiors?

Would you like it if all of the employees are in the same wear?

What are your favorite drinks?

Any special (rare) drinks that you had and like?

What kind of music do you like?

What is your Age, Female or Male?

What is your usual time you leave a club?

PLEASE ANSWER MY SURVEY, I'm a High Business Venture Student, on ideas of a Restaurant/Club?
I've got several ideas, I've always wanted to have for a restaurant. I'm a themie person, something nostolgic like, something 50'ish, or something about wilderness, backwoods, or a place called "The River's Edge" or River's Edge Cafe, and have the intierior designed according to the name and theme of the place. Like have for The River's Edge, have a bar with wooden whiskey barrels, and a man made replica of a stream with trees a couple bushes, and serve food like sports bar food to steaks and seafood. That gives a wide choice of type of foor and prices.

With the 50's have a old 50's Chevy and serve appeitzers from the trunk, have the lights look like the old gas station pump signs like the type of gas ads, and serve pictcher's of beverages with drinking pictchers designed like the old oil cans with the nozzle as the spout. and have the waitresses where clothes of the 50's with Bobby socks and saddle shoes. Serve ice cream, shakes, malts, floats burgers and fries , onion rings, shrimp in a basket.

Another type I've thought of is one that serves for mostly health consciesous people. And make it so if people want salt in food they put it on themselves or ask for it cooked that way. Instead of making people have to ask for it cooked without salt. There is already enough places that are geared for people not concerned about what they eat. And put in the menu by each add or picture of an item what that item contains in nutrients (fats, sodium and carbs)

1 Casual dinning

2 nice decor that fits the type of food served or the name of the place. Also happy, smiling greeters, ready to seat you. A fairly quiet, but busy atmosphere.

3 depends on what type of food served

4 supervisors yes, and depending on if you serve alchohol or not on security

5 yes, it is nice to seem them wear close to the same outfits

6 the usual, soda, tea hot or cold, soda. Depending on type of place, Beer, wine and cocktails.

7 Mai tai's, Havey wallbangers, rusty nail, slippery rock, Mississippi Mud, bloody mary, Tom Collins, Whiskey sour. Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's and the list goes on and also virgin drinks(= no booze) there are vaious no booze punch recipes

8 all kinds, easy, listening, Big band, old rock n roll, old time country and westren, show tunes

9 female

10 depends on if there just for dinner or if the club is having a dance. Just to eat no later than 8:30 to 10 PM. For a dance, goes by the laws in your state.
Reply:I can't tell if you are asking about a restaurant OR a club or a club that is also a restaurant. Since I don't usually go to clubs, I just gave you my opinions about restaurants. Hope this helps.

1. ideal restaurant: casual sit-down restaurant with low prices and relatively large portions (like TGI Fridays, or Applebee's)

2. First thing to feel or see - smiling host/hostess

3. Specialist - doesn't matter

4. Security - I guess I am hoping that security wouldn't be necessary. I am not sure I would return to a place that needs security

5. Employee uniform - yes, I like uniforms. It's easy to see who works there in case you have a question or a request

6. Drinks - beer, pina coladas, daquiris, sodas

7. Special drinks - sorry, none that I can think of.

8. Music - Frank Sinatra, jazz, easy listening. I am there for the food and the conversation, so the music shouldn't dominate, but should be in the background. Not too loud.

9. Age: 39, Sex: Female

10. N/a
Reply:Modern, quiet, clean, little upscale

Like all kinds of food...Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean Steaks

Relaxed atmosphere, tidy staff, no lines!

Specialist

Security would depend on the area

I think a uniform style is nice for the staff...this way you can tell who works there easily

Mojito...cilantro mojito

Depends on my mood. For dining jazz is nice. In my car usually top 20 or reggae

Female - 35

close
Reply:one that has enough room for everyone and is not crammed

Italian

i want to feel welcome not a sign that says "please wait to be seated" i want to be greeted at the door by a person

i don't mind

yes

yes

i love to try new exotic drinks as well as the ordinary

not to loud and calming

i don't give out my age and female

Reply:on that is privite and cute

cocktails and wine coolers

no not yet

hip hop rap

4:00 to 6:00 am clubs are so hot and fateque
Reply:What is an ideal Restaurant for you?

Somewhere with great food and great prices where there are low-fat or low-calorie alternatives

What kind of food do you like?

I like nearly all kinds of food. Excessively salty or greasy foods I dislike.

What is the first thing you want to feel or see when you come in the restaurant?

I want it to look clean, appropriately full for the time of day, and sufficiently lit. I would like to hear people talking pleasantly (if there are many of them), or quiet music that matches the theme of the restaurant. Classical music is nearly always a safe choice in an upscale restaurant. Pop-ish music is generally a better choice for a bar or nightclub.

Do you prefer specialist bartenders and cooks, than ordinary?

No, though it looks great on paper.

Will you feel secure if there is more security at the club such as security guards and supervisiors?

Depends. If they are needed, then yes, if they aren't I'll just feel like the place isn't safe.

Would you like it if all of the employees are in the same wear?

Somewhat. Male and Female attire should differ though coordinate. Also bartenders may have a slightly different but still coordinating outfit as the waiters/waitresses

What are your favorite drinks?

Scotch and soda

Any special (rare) drinks that you had and like?

n/a

What kind of music do you like?

Classic Rock

What is your usual time you leave a club?

When it gets boring or I get tired.
Reply:What is an ideal Restaurant for you?

Olive Garden

What kind of food do you like?

Pizza :D

What is the first thing you want to feel or see when you come in the restaurant? It to not be packed O.o

Do you prefer specialist bartenders and cooks, than ordinary?

it's pizza i dun care who cooks it as long as there clean and it taste good

Will you feel secure if there is more security at the club such as security guards and supervisiors?

nush (no)

Would you like it if all of the employees are in the same wear?

Nah! that's boring :D

What are your favorite drinks?

Moutain Dew And Strawberry Dacrey

Any special (rare) drinks that you had and like?

Peal Harbor

What kind of music do you like?

Rock alterntive

What is your Age, Female or Male?

18 Male

What is your usual time you leave a club?

Assessing Student's Growth in Reading?

This year I will be starting a Reader's Workshop in my 4th grade classroom. I am fortunate to have the support of my administration as I do this, but am planning on collecting evidence of how this program is or is not successful. I will be using a variety of measures, but would like something which is empirical in nature (besides student surveys, which can only be called borderline empirical). Does anyone know of any diagnostics which I could use a few times (I was thinking once at the start, once in the middle, and at the end) which would let me show that students grew X amount? Thanks in advance.

Assessing Student's Growth in Reading?
DIBELS test is a great asesment tool. Go to a reading first web site or just google Dibels tests. You give each child a timed reading for a minute to assess for fluency. Then have them retell what they read for a minute for comprehension.

Great diagnostic tool as well to zero in on what interventions need to take place for more growth.
Reply:When you consider figuring out if a program is effective make sure you take into account how a student learns. A student who learns primarily though visual means will not show up accurately on most evaluation methods. Keep that in mind because there are a lot of naive teachers out there with little or no psychological expertise trying to evaluate things and they rarely look at how a student learns which means anyone who knows even a little bit about developmental psychology will make you look like a total fool in any kind of presentation.
Reply:Running Record! I prefer the Rigby kit. However my school did not have it (and it costs about $300.00) so I subscribed to readinga-z.com. Check out the site and go under guided reading for more info.
Reply:There are many formal reading assessments: DIBELS, IRI, QRI, DRA, etc. Your school should have or be using some of these. If not, they are easy to come by.

For teachers who have FAS students. What concerns should I have as a teacher of a student with FAS?

What classroom adaptations are necessary in the classroom?

What is your responce when a FAS student has an emotional or behavioral episode?

I am an education major and this is a survey for part of an assignment. Please answer as many of the questions as you wish. Thank you for your time.

For teachers who have FAS students. What concerns should I have as a teacher of a student with FAS?
I have only worked with kids with pretty severe mental retardation and FAS...not milder cases......I teach in a self-contained special class. For the FAS kids I have worked with impulse control was a problem as was communication, and behavior such as tantrums/hitting others......I found sticking to a very strict routine.....the SAME exact routine EVERY day was very helpful.....having the class routine posted via photos/picture symbols and going over it in the AM and reminding the student about it throughout the day helped with some of the tendency to lose focus on what they/we were supposed to be doing......I used a strict behavior management/reward system......I did use time out w/ one little guy w/ FAS because he'd get upset for some reason or another and then he'd start slapping everyone near him.....if I had him go sit in the corner (he was compliant with that) for a few minutes he'd settle down then come back and not hit.............I did have special training for verbal and physical intervention and there were times when this one student needed that sort of intervention to prevent him from self-injuring.......Finally, making sure the student has a good communication system is helpful...many students with severe FAS are non verbal or have major language impairments...making sure they have a communication book or device is helpful in heading off behavioral incidents....I feel so bad because I had a boy w/ FAS in my class who used limited sign language and a communication wallet.....for weeks he was pointing aggressively at "home" and signing it...he was also REALLY acting out in class.....one day he did not come to school.....mom called..he'd been hit by a car....turns out they had recently moved to a new home (mom had not told us) and he ran away to try to get back to his old home...the same "home" he'd been signing to us about...we just did not understand. For working w/ kids with FAS...patience and a structured environment. Good Luck.

Which online survey that british use most?

Hi there!!

I am a MA student and recently need to do a questionaire.

But i don't have enough time to do the street survey! Plz tell me which online survey people use most and i can get the result asap!! Many thanks!!

Which online survey that british use most?
You have to learn to make the time. Organise you life a little better and stop looking for the easy option.

How the heck do you think people graduated before computers!!!!
Reply:online survey?

Your question is a little confusing.

EDIT: I totally agree with what others have been saying here, you need to actually use software that allows you to crate a survey so it shows what your research field is and what values you are using in order to gain the preferred results for that population you are using. Simply going online is not giving a detailed explanation of how you made your survey, what the values are and what the working out was.

Hi I'm a High School Student @ Downey High trying to gather information on starting a restaurant *SURVEY*?
1. Yes (pretty)

2. Yes

3. Yes

4. French

5. Fresh cut flowers, immaculate conditions,

6. Lacroix @ The Rittenhouse - the food and atmosphere is phenomenol. The staff is extremley accomodating and go beyond what is expected of a restaurant.

7. Chains (TGI McScratchies, McGoofy's...)

8. I mostly support my friends who work in fine dining settings. Since I'm in the restaurant business, we usually like to support each other.

9. 26K

10. Group
Reply:1. sure. it means "blue sky right" right?

2.18

3.yes

4.authentic. there are too many americanized french food. i'd like to eat the real thing

5.simple but elegant interior. clean. good service

6.lol most upscale restaurant i ever been to was ihop

7.dirty ones. bad service

8.vietnamese restaurants. i go back to my roots. family restuarants. and etc

9.none

10.group of 2 or more
Reply:1. It wouldn't really mean anything to me, but it looks quirky, so I'd definately check out the menu.

2. Yes.

3. It depends. I can say I will be dining out more this month due to events, but on average it's once a week. Well, unless you count lunch, then it depends on how many leftovers I have in the house. (Probably @ once a week.)

4. I really like authentic cuisine, but I'm a snob that way.

5. Nice decor, flowers, professional staff.

6. I don't go to upscale restaurants often enough to have a favorite, but I like the Sunday brunch at His Lordships. It's expensive but worth every penny. The variety and abundance of food really makes it worth the cost. There's also a place around here called Jack's Bistro. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. With both restaurants, you also get a view of the bay.

7. There are 2 types of restaurants I don't like. I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants because there are lots of Mom and Pops out here, and I'd rather support them. I also don't like the restaurants that over charge for a lesser quality of food. For instance, I went to a seafood joint the week before last that was expensive. I had accepted the price, but I expected to get more seafood for the money. If they had charged $5 less a plate I still would have been happy.

8. I usually dine in Mom %26amp; Pop joints. I like a variety of cuisines, and don't have that high of an income for where I live, so it's usually cheap great places, a deli, or the grocery store.

9. @ $25,000

10. It depends on the occasion and how I'm feeling that day. It's usually just me and my fiance because we just up and decide to go out, but if others are there, thats fine with me too. The more the merrier!

Good luck on your survey!

2. no, 17.

3. yes

4. Americanized.

5. my expectations.....i would like my waitor/waitress to be really nice, understanding, that sense of urgency (you know, instead of dragging her feet), happy face, act like they want to be there, whether or not if they really want to, to create that happy atmosphere customers are looking for.

6, i like TGI Fridays, and Applebees, because my experiences to both of them places are really good, and at both places, you get a the amount of food that you paid for. for reasonable prices.

7. the kind that i dont like....are the ones that ive been there more than twice and the service was bad, food was bad, and no one had customer service. i ignore those places. Ruby Tuesday is one of those.

8. Outback, Applebees, Michaels. and some chinese places. King Buffet...mmmm. haha.

9. 10k

10. if it was just me and my partner, i would prolly dine in maybe once or twice every month. but i would rather dine in more with a group.

A survey question for all junior high/high school students: How long does it take you to do your HW?
I am a junior high school student and it took me 2 hours the most for hard homeworks (the ones which require lots and lots of thinking) and for the easy ones (computation etc.) it took me 1 hour the most.
Reply:It depends on the type of subject n hmrk. For few pages ,maybe 20 mins the most.

I get 9 hours a sleep everyday,if not i'll be dozing in class!!! sleep is essential coz we get too tired
Reply:when i was in high school my H.W doesnt take much long to do. its just 30 minutes for 2 or 3 homeworks.

to day in college, homeworks took 6 hours for me do to due to the difficulty of the H.W. specially that my course is related to engineering, pressure to every subject is there. i sometimes cannot even finish my assignments.

my rest took just 3 or four hours compared to my highschool years that took 8 to 9 hours.
Reply:i'm a sophomore in high school taking all advanced classes, but i have a sort of split schedule, so i have three classes one day and the other three the next day. on days where i only have french 2 homework and chemistry homework to do, it takes me only about an hour if i put my mind to it.

but on days when i have to do world history honors, english 2 honors, and algebra 2, it can take me a good 3+ hours because those teachers all give me a lot of homework. on good night i get about 7 hours of sleep, but on occasion i've gotten less than 2

i've had a 4.0 my entire life until just this last semester, i got a 3.67 because i had Bs in my history and algebra 2 classes

Are Appendixes Titles in a thesis capitalized?

I know each appendix is in all caps, but are the titles?

See my Example:

APPENDIX A

Student Survey

Should Student survey be in ALL caps?

Are Appendixes Titles in a thesis capitalized?
depends upon the format you are adopting.

I would say, if you have All caps in sub-titles of other chapters, then it is better to have All Caps. My view is that to make it similar to sub-title of other chapters.

A survey question for all junior high/high school students: How heavy is your backpack?

If you are related to a student, you may answer as well. And please state his (or their) grade, also.

P.S. Also state for how long you carry the backpack around and how much your back hurts (if at all) after carrying it.

I'm not sure how much it weights and would be scared to find out, usually i have to take things out and carry them in my arms, my bag is that heavy. I would take a guess at between 5-15kgs depending on the amount of h/w i have.

I do get back pains every now and again, especially as on top of my bag, my causal job requires a bit of heavy lifting and as a girl and not particularly strong, its hard going.

I've often thought of starting my own boutique that catered to professional women. Unless you have a personal shopper, which many of my friends now use, you must invest an enormous amount of time trying on clothes from several different departments. Also, manufacturers market their line together, however I will often buy a blouse or sweater from another designer. I wish someone would design a store that caters to stylish women in their 50's who have a bit of money, want to look stylish but not trendy, yet cannot afford to spend $2000 on a suit. They could make a fortune.

Does anyone out there have an "unusual" job that is willing to help me out with a short survey for school?

Hello all. I am doing this project in my honors english class at my high school that is all about exploring careers that are "off of the beaten path". It is my job to find someone that has an unusual job and interview them with 10 short questions. Anyone that is willing to help a student out please fill out the following survey.

Questions:

1. What makes your job so unique?

2. Do you enjoy your job?

3. Is there a strong demand for people pursueing careers similiar to yours?

4. What education is required?

5. What is the average salary for someone in your position? (you don't have to be specific here)

6. Are there any other careers related to yours?

7.What colleges/universities have well know programs in your field?

8. Would you suggest that young people cosider a job like the one that you hold?

9. What age is the minimum required to be in your position?

10. Is there room to grow in you position (e.g. start as a fry cook, move to management)

11. Name?

Does anyone out there have an "unusual" job that is willing to help me out with a short survey for school?
1. I am an Art Director at an advertising agency. My job is unique because I get to work in a completely creative, artistic environment mixed with business. I help create or sustain strategies and brands (etc), and it can be very fulfilling to see it pay off for a business. I get the inside scoop on many types of business, from Mom and Pop's all the way up to Fortune 500 clients.

2. I love my job.

3. Advertising has a very strong demand for creative, and well communicative people in the day and age we live in. It also is extremely competitive.

4. Usually a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or Business. Mine is in BS in Visual Communication. Kind of a blend of the two. What I do, is not all art per say.

5. Depends on where you're at geographically, how long you've been in the field, and also the size of the business you're employed at. Anywhere from $60,000 – $80,000 up up up

6. Production artists, graphic designers, senior designers, creative director, marketing communications, etc.

7. Ferris State University (MI), Cranbrook, MN, I'm sure there's a lot more.

8. Absolutely. My advice is you have to be tough as nails, have a true commitment and drive for what you do, and don't take anything personal. But the payoff is lots of fun!

9. It's not an entry-level position, usually requires anywhere from 3-5 years experience, you really gotta know your stuff. I would say minimum (usually) is 25.

10. Yes. Monetarily but also as Creative Director, Business Owner...

11. Auddi

(Hopefully this fits your criteria... I don't know many Art Director's myself)

2. Yes very much the people I meet are very weird and often pay a hefty sum for the removal of "ghosts"

3. Ghosts are not real I admit it, although if you are a ghost fan this is especially the job for you. Knowing alot about "Ghosts" will certanly get people to trust you more.

4. None really you just gotta pretend that you know but you gotta make sure you don't go overboard or else the people might not belive you. Even just watching the ghost shows helps.

5. It truly depends on the person that you are helping some people might pay you 500+ dollars on one visit. The average monthly salary i get would be about 6,000 dollars a month.

6. You could say that a paranormal expert is very much like my job. An actors job is very much like mine.

7. None, I have a degree in science though.

8. Probaly not you would be much better off going to college and getting a different job. My job is very hectic with the people that I go with.

9. Old enough so you look like a professional but not so old that you cant walk.

10. Not really, you could start by working at a Hotline or something but other than that I cant think of anything

11. I'd rather keep my name to my self.
Reply:1. I get to work with teenagers all day long.

2.very much

Dear Readers, Please participate in this survey to help a linguistics graduate student. Thank you!?

The linguistics survey is located http://www.georgetownroundtable.com and it will take less than 5 minutes of your time. It's very very short obviously and pretty self-explanatory with its guidelines. Your participation will greatly help my term project. If you have been a researcher, you know how precious data can be for you when your final projects are due soon. If would like to know what exactly the purpose behind this survey is, please let me know and i will email some more info later on. Many many thanks, J.

A recent survey has revealed more and more students are trying to sue Universities for their college fees back

due to the fact they failed and blamed it on poor tutoring. What if any is your opinion on this.

A recent survey has revealed more and more students are trying to sue Universities for their college fees back
Well i live in Scotland and SAAS pay for my uni fees so i'm ok haha.

Edit- infact...i'd have to pay if i failed my exams- damn.

Well i'd pay up because i'd blame it on myself.

I think you do get bad teachers in certain classes and their teaching methods can affect how well you pick up on stuff but they are giving you a base, the student needs to take that and learn independently.

They are probably only trying to sue because loans and living can get them in a bit of debt and this seems a easy way to get out of that.
Reply:I think it's ridiculous. Students are ultimately responsible for their own learning.

Can you provide a link to this survey that you talk about?
Reply:It's a fact that you can't fix stupid. Even a bad tutor will work if the student applies him or herself to the lessons. And you stated tutor, it is up to the teacher/professor to teach, not a backroom incompetent. I don't believe that a return is indicated for those screw up students
Reply:This is joke right? Stupid people get all the breaks.
Reply:Why would you sue a university for college fees back?

Well I went to college, my fees were paid by SAAS but I'm really glad I didnt have to waste my money. Most of my lecturers couldnt give a crap about the work and one of them even used each class to talk all about her family and whatever diet she was on. She was really thick and even told us about the time 'she walked off a blood clot' (yeah right she did - funny there were no doctors about to witness this miracle)

How to help a student who has trouble breaking down complex ideas into components and synthesysing?

I'm a math tutor and have a very difficult client who cannot seem to do this at all. Worse yet, she's become very demanding, wanting to see me 6 hrs per week! Seeing her leaves me feeling very drained and irritable but I can't seem to say no and I don't have the heart to "fire" her as other tutors have done. (I've been tutoring over 30 years, have often taken on students other tutors have given up on, and have never given up on anyone!) She's a woman of "a certain age" and seems accustomed to having the men in her life do certain things for her, perhaps this is why she cannot seem to understand how to break up a process into steps and put them together.

Please help --

How do you help someone learn math (discreet math, a survey of advanced topics required of liberal arts majors( who cannot seem to anaylise and synthesiyse complex processes?

How do I set boundaries so that she doesn't make me sick?

How to help a student who has trouble breaking down complex ideas into components and synthesysing?
Try going all Socratic on her. Do not instruct, do not explain, ask questions only. Keep asking the questions until she has developed some idea of how to break down a problem or until you notice something about the way she approaches a problem that can be trained. If her answers still frustrate/bore you after a couple of sessions, you will have learned that nobody's benefiting.
Reply:tough ?. make it fun for you two. is there an easy step by step thing to do the problem? learning math is hard for some students to learn and as a student that isn't good at math, i suggest perserveering and being simpler, maybe you are explaing things in a manner she cannot understand. ask her, what don't you get from this? what do you get from this? you need to find a way to make her focus, and make her a friend no matter how uncool. Be kind when you speak and try to keep your cool.

good luck!
Reply:It sounds like she might have a learning disorder, possibly a spacial deficit. Thus, you have to approach it as such. Many of the learning disabled (even adults,) can be demanding, overzealous, and yes, annoying.

If you wish to break it down for her, the easiest way I have found (that works,) is to teach it, 1 step at a time. Don't go into more advanced areas, until they understand the first concept, completely, both backwards and forwards. Give her a minimum of 100 problems, on the first concept, prior to going on to the next, so it's firmly established in her head. Then, the sequential information will kick in, on it's own. They usually can't handle more than one process at a time, though, so be aware of that.

In addition, you might try turning it into a game, as it helps them to connect the dots, so to speak. You just have to figure out a game to use.

I use the technique for teaching various subject matter, including math. For instance... when I teach multiplication of positives and negatives to students that have a deficit, I make up sayings that they can recall easily. Ex. a bad man leaving town is a good thing (a negative x a negative is a positive.)

In addition, you might set certain stop points, for her. For instance, if she demands 6 hours, but you're drained, you simply say, "I'm sorry, but that won't be possible." If she tries to convince you otherwise, you repeat it, again. Regardless of what she says, ignore it, and continue to repeat the stop point. Eventually, they get tired of the repetiveness, and go on, to something else.
Reply:sounds like someone i know , and she just isn't mature enough to do certain things and its going to be hard , the one i know had to take some adult education classes and after 4 years of that she still doesn't know her math well at all and struggles with reading , she had some test down and they told her it is a severe learning disability and that she will have to learn things hands on , you might be able to talk to high school adminstrator for advice on this also , they are usually very willing to help
Reply:start with the answer and move backwards, then have her repeat the steps forward. i've never actually attempted this myself, but it might be just what she needs to help her understand. Then once she has done it a couple times, she can try to do it from the beginning without u working it backwards.
Reply:Require that she does her homework before she comes to see you, and that she attempt every problem. Tell her to let you see her notes from class, because chances are she isn't taking them at all, or at least not very well. Start explaining how to take notes rather than how to do the math. Chances are she'll freak out and demand that she already knows to take notes. So, demand that she does it. Then, when she comes in ask her to open her notebook and explain the notes. Then have her pull out her homework and tell you specifically what she was having trouble with. If she doesn't do these things, let her fail.

How do I go about writing a letter appealing a survey that said I wasnt qualified enough for a teller position

I recently applied to Bank of America as a teller. I feel that I had a good resume %26amp; cover letter. I called to follow up on my job application and the hiring manager seemed pretty impressed with the answers I gave him. We seemed to hit it off professionally, as if I would be a good asset to the team. The next process in selecting a candidate for the teller position was to fill out a survey. It asked several multiple choice ?s about my academic high school history and how I would react to this %26amp; that situation. I answered all questions honestly. I wasn't the perfect student in high school, but have a lot of potential and am doing way better in college. The survey at the end said I did't fit the qualifications. Now, I'm not in the running for the position. I feel like the ?s asked were biased. I want to write a letter to the hiring manager explaining why I choose some of the answers I did. I want to tell him that I would be a good fit for this position.

How do I go about writing a letter appealing a survey that said I wasnt qualified enough for a teller position
My son just applied for a customer service job for Bank of America in Rhode Island. He is saying the same thing you are saying. He has 3 yrs of experience in customer service with a community bank and he felt like he was new to the scene of customer service after having much experience . After he physically went to the call center and met them and realized how they ran the call center he decided he was glad he failed the assessment at that point. The business was very impersonal and they talked to their customers that way. Not the way he was use to treating people. My advise to you and my son, is look for another job. There are lots of banks out there. Good luck on your job search, you will find something. I actually thought he wrote your question, I asked him to make sure he didn't before I answered.

What are some good survey questions for a yearbook?

I am editor of my yearbook this year and i am doing 2 survey pages. One for 8th graders and one for freshman. I need some good ones that aren't all that serious but more that will get funny answers and students will enjoy reading.

What are some good survey questions for a yearbook?
Try "most embarrassing moment", those answers could be good for a laugh, however I would suggest doing those anomalously, just to leave some mystery for the students to think about.

Are there any legit survey or work at home companies that are legit and bring decent money?

I am trying to find an extra way to make money while being an at home mother and full time student. Is there any legit companies that offer decent money for surveys, at home work or even secret shoppers?...Please Help!!!

Are there any legit survey or work at home companies that are legit and bring decent money?
YES! There are legit work at home options…….I looked for 2 years before I found a good one! Learn from my experiences….lol

I’m a stay at home mom of two little girls a 1 year old and a 3 year old. I work about 15-18 hours per week for a National Medical Benefits Company. I have been with the company for 6 months and am now making over $2500 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work I have seen people make anywhere from $500-$2000. And your income will increase each month because we get paid residual income as well. If I continue on as I am going at the end of the year I will be making $5000 a month. My friend Becky started 2 years before me. She is now making $95,000 a year.

The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit and a benefits package. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me.

I absolutely love working with them and I can't believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. The support is great but I have made wonderful friends as well. I think that’s important too, especially being at home!

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company is the number one National Medical Benefits Company in the US. They are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce which is very impressive. Also they were featured in “The New York Times”, “Wall Street Journal” and the “American Medical Review”. Even “60 Minutes” with Morley Safer did a big special on them!

Even more then all this is they are accepted at over 100,000 retailers nation wide. These are fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-mart and more. These companies would never work with a company that was any thing less then reputable. That made me feel very good about working with them knowing they were accepted at the stores I frequent. Also now of course being with them I get the benefits for free and I saved over $150 on my last visit to the dentist! That’s just a beautiful perk! : - )

When I first started I just felt very safe with them…. that and my friend was already making so much money with them! But at this point I feel a sense of security financially that our family has never had before. That plus LOVING what you do? What could be better?

Reply:This question gets asked several times a day. If there were jobs out there, they'd pretty much be filled by now just by the people who ask here. Most of the "jobs" you find of the types that you mention are scams - they get a signup fee from you, and you get little or nothing for it. If they look for an up front fee, they're not a job, they are most likely a scam - or will pay you so little it won't be worth your time or the signup fee - usually you'd make money only if you can get others to pay the fees also. And most of the people who respond on how wonderful of an opportunity the have found then give you a link with their ID so they can get a cut of your fee if you sign up.
Reply:Legit ways to make $$ online is to buy low and sell high on ebay/ or to start a website or blog and stick google ads on your site/blog(with high traffic you can make some serious cash) You can also start a small buz selling Avon, Mary Kay products...

Just a survey for my project.to all nursing student i need your answer to my question..?

questions:

1.a 20 yrs old female complain of dizzines naisea/vomiting and cut loss for month patient has a family Hx of dm(diabetes mellitus).

a.whatcouldbe your primary diagnosis for the patient?

b.as a nurse what is your dietary advise?

c.nurse teaching you should give this patient?

d.treatment consideration?

2.a 10 yrs old female complained of anterior neck mass, with easy patigability with loss, lab.work up, increase T3,T4,TSH enlarged thyroid.

Just a survey for my project.to all nursing student i need your answer to my question..?
1. Oh my God. 20 years old. Too young. She must have consumed a lot of glucose during her childhood. Ok, the nursing diagnoses for this one is as follows;

a%26gt; 1. Body image disturbed r/t gangrenous left foot(if there's any)

2. Hyperthermia r/t dehydration

3.Ineffective Therapeutic management r/t health beliefs

Actually, there are a lot of NDx for this case. I wont tell you the primary NDx. The primary NDx for this should focus on the Diet plan, the management of the treatment, hygiene. Go figure that out.

b.%26gt; Dietary advise? Ofcourse, less carbs like rice. Why? carbohydrates' end product is glucose. Protein should be taken 15-20% of kcal intake. Fats should be "low" in saturated fats. Fiber is good for DM. Sodium's recommended daily intake is 1000mg per 1000kcal, not to exceed 3000mg.

To make the long story short:

- moderately low carb intake

- less salt intake(sodium)

- less protein

- Limit fat intake

- Gradual increase in Fiber

- Some suggest the use of Artificial Sweeteners, but for me it's a no no. Considering it could contain Aspartame, which have been found out to complicate DM.

- NO ALCOHOL and SMOKING, please.

c.%26gt; Again, proper diet, foot care, hygiene, proper diet, treatment management(insulin)

d.%26gt; treatment considerations.this topic is too long, research on this one.

2. Did you mean easy fatiguability? question number two is incomplete and not constructed as it should be. please re-construct and put the questions, because there are no questions to answer this one. Thanks.

Survey: Are you a college student procrastinating? Why?

I'm making a study on why and how much college students procrastinate. (I do, by the way ;)

Survey: Are you a college student procrastinating? Why?
I'm both a highschool student and college student, and yes, I am procrastinating.

I've got a Criminology paper due on Friday, a Chemistry paper due tomarrow, tons of geometrey to do, Advanced Spanish makeup work due friday....and I haven't even started.

I procrastinate because.....I don't know. I dread pain?
Reply:Yes and sort of. I'm skipping class right now, because i didnt want to leave. And yes i'm putting off doing a paper because the material is SO BORING
Reply:Yes, sometimes I just don't feel like doing the work so I put it off til the last minute.
Reply:I procrastinate because I have so much on my plate. I go to school full-time and work third shift full-time as well. I need to better manage my time, but sometimes I think that I deserve to just sit there and get nothing done once in a while.
Reply:I procrastinate all the time, even when I'm getting regular sex. It's just a good way to relieve tension and sometimes you have to knock an easy one out before servicing the lil' lady..

I need some help with this sets question. In a survey in a sampl of students who wrote at least one of the?

subjects P, Q and R yielded the following data. 36 students wrote P, 42 students wrote Q, 38 students wrote R, 9 students wroted both P and R, 8 students wrote P and Q, 12 students wrote Q and R, 26 students wrote Q only and x students wrote all three.

Determine the value of x?

How many students were in the sample?

I need some help with this sets question. In a survey in a sampl of students who wrote at least one of the?
Draw a diagram like this one:

http://i26.tinypic.com/2pt2erm.gif

I've labeled each section with the number of students in that section. For example, 19+x students wrote P only.

We also know that 26 wrote Q only, so from the diagram we have

22 + x = 26

So x = 4

(You should put this value for x into the diagram and confirm that the result agrees with the numbers given in the question.)

I leave the last question to you.

Looking for a work from home job for a busy student?

Basically, I am a student who is too busy to get a real job due to my unfortunate class schedule. I do not need to make a lot of money. I am looking at like $200-300 a month to cover my food expenses. So far paid surveys have not worked out for me and I do not have junk around the apartment to sell on ebay. If you have a paid survey site that you know works well or if you have a decent idea about ebay I guess post it. Otherwise I would prefer other ideas.

Here are 2 for being paid to take surveys. I've made a bit of $$ from it. little time.

Patrice and jason needed to report the results of a survey regarding the favorite snack food of the student's

at Milton Middle School. how could the report be done to produce a representative sample of 100 students?

Patrice and jason needed to report the results of a survey regarding the favorite snack food of the student's
The key is to make the survey truly random. Possibilities include putting all names of students in a hat and drawing 100 names, or using a computer to generate random numbers and match them to a numbered list of students names.

Once the sample is found, the report should add up the number of each type of snack food as selected in the survey. A percentage of respondents selecting each type of snack food could then be reported. For instance, if 13 people selected chips as their favorite snack food, then it would be reported that "13% of respondents selected chips."

I am conducting a survey. Please fill free - young and old - to participate!?

I must survey 15 new/student drivers and 15 experienced drivers.

Here is the question : When driving, how would you handle a sideways skid ?

In your answer, please varify if you are a new/student driver or an experienced driver. Please be specific in how you would handle a sideways skid.

Thank you so much for help!

I am conducting a survey. Please fill free - young and old - to participate!?
First: Don't touch the brake or the gas. Either one will make things worse.

Second: Steer into the skid. In other words, if your car is skidding to the right, turn the front wheels to the right until the car staightens out.

30 years of driving (and skidding)

One handy tip: Never use your cruise control when the road is slick.
Reply:If the cars rear-end is coming around to the right, turn the wheel in that direction (right). No brakes helps the wheels to regain traction as well as a little gas.The rear of the car tends to want to follow the front wheels,if the car is in a left turn be ready for the rear to come around the right so to correct that skid and on the gas allows the car to stay on that fine line of just losing it.This can happen very fast and most drivers don't see it coming.I've done this in snow and it feels a little slower because you know it will happen in almost every turn.I've been driving for many moons.Good Luck
Reply:If I am sideways, there is not a whole heck of a lot I can do . The vehicle has lost complete traction and I am just along for the ride . Hitting the slightest bump or obstacle can cause the vehicle to rollover . As the vehicle slows down (hopefully without impacting anything), the wheels will regain their grip on the road . Then I can begin to think about regaining control and getting the vehicle pointed the right way.

(Almost lost it crossing a bridge at highway speed and hit a patch of black ice.)
Reply:Most drivers will be better off if they do not "Turn in the direction of the skid."

That's okay, almost nobody knows what "Turn in the direction of the skid" means.

And if your rear tires lose traction, you have no time to decipher the complex, unspoken nuances associated with "Turn in the direction of the skid".

Did your Driver's Ed teacher mention that at some point you must steer back the other way or you'll go flying off into the trees or opposing traffic? I didn't think so.

36 years driving...
Reply:It depends. If my vehicle has stability control I would let the car fix it's self automatically and let it control the slipping by controlling the breaks by itself.

If it doesn't, then I would apply the breaks 50% and steer opp. of the turn.
Reply:Well Ive been driving for 5 years and have handled a sideways skid the same way all five years. Let off the gas and turn the wheel in the opposite direction. Its always worked for me on dry and iced roads.
Reply:experienced driver

about 25 years of driving experience

I turn the wheels towards the turn and regain control of the vehicle.

Driving on snow or ice in Northern Michigan teaches you the fastest way!!!
Reply:take your foot on the gas. Do NOT press the brake. and turn your wheel the opposite way. I learned that in Drivers Ed this year
